Our School

Overton CE Primary School caters for girls and boys from age four to eleven (Reception to Year 6).  It was founded in 1847 as a Church of England Foundation.  The current main building was built in 1968 and was designed as a semi-open plan school for 210 children. The school was extended and upgraded in 1998, 2001 and 2012. We now have 384 children in 14 classes with 2 classes per year group.  We anticipate reaching 420 children within 2 years.

The school is set in an attractive environment of 10 acres with a landscaped playing field, children’s trim trail, pond area and 2 playgrounds.  We have a nature trail around the perimeter of the school grounds and a fitness trail for the community, families and children at weekends and holidays.  The new additions of a meditation area and willow garden have provided further environments which enhance the outside learning space.

Our swimming pool on site allows all children in the school to swim during June and July.  All Key Stage 1 children swim once a week and all Key Stage 2 children twice a week.  The pool is used for community swimming through Lordsfield Swimming Club in the evenings, weekends and over the summer holidays.  The on-going partnership between the school and the community is vital to enable the pool to continue.
There are 2 purpose-built Reception classrooms with a dedicated landscaped outdoor area designed to provide a variety of learning opportunities all year round. school5.jpg
