Sports Day 4th July 2022

It was great to see the whole school involved in a Sports Day, cheered on by families and friends. The first part of the morning involved a rotation around a series of activities. The children were representing their houses and it was great to see all the children in mixed-age groups from Year R to Year 6.  This was then followed by the finals of the year-group flat races. All the children had taken part in qualifying heats in their PE lessons.  The customary and traditional parents’ races added more competitive spirit but thankfully without any injuries!

The Sports Day was won by Beech house.  Thank you to all who came and to the children and staff of Overton for their enthusiasm, teamwork and positive attitude.

Christmas 2019

Well done to all the children of Overton CE Primary for their performances this December.

On the 12th December the key stage 2 children got the community into the Christmas spirit with their Christmas carol concert at St Mary’s church.  Everyone braved the horrible weather and we were all treated to a wonderful display of singing and narration of the Christmas story. Thank you to all who attended and our church community who hosted all the visitors after the concert serving refreshments, mulled wine and mince pies.

The key stage 1 children took to the stage on the 17th and 18th December to perform their Christmas production.  All the children contributed to a wonderful performance in front of a packed audience on both nights.  Well done to all.

See you all in the new year.

“Same but Different” Day: Friday 12th May 2017

On Friday, Overton CE held a “Same but Different” Ugandan themed day.

The aim of the day was to build upon and support our link with our friends in Mityana.  During the day, awareness was further raised about what Mityana is like; remove stereotypical perceptions of Africa; and to look at the similarities and differences we share.

The day also provided an opportunity to fundraise by allowing non-uniform in the colours of the Ugandan flag.  The money raised will further help the aim of Mityana to become self-sufficient.

Well done to all the children, staff and families for supporting us on this day. An amazing £360 was raised.  Thank you.
