Our School

Overton CE Primary School caters for girls and boys from age four to eleven (Reception to Year 6).  It was founded in 1847 as a Church of England Foundation.  The current main building was built in 1968 and was designed as a semi-open plan school for 210 children. The school was extended and upgraded in 1998, 2001 and 2012. We now have 400 children in 14 classes with 2 classes per year group.  We anticipate reaching 420 children within 2 years.

school2  The main building has 12 classrooms, a purpose built music and drama room, a community room, a children’s kitchen for curriculum cooking and a newly built library and research centre.  Each classroom has permanent access to laptops and each is fitted with an interactive whiteboard.

The school is set in an attractive environment of 10 acres with a landscaped playing field, children’s trim trail, pond area and 2 playgrounds.  We have a nature trail around the perimeter of the school grounds and a fitness trail for the community, families and children at weekends and holidays.  The new additions of a meditation area and willow garden have provided further environments which enhance the outside learning space.

There are 2 purpose-built Reception classrooms with a dedicated landscaped outdoor area designed to provide a variety of learning opportunities all year round. school5.jpg
